"FRAGMENTS OF FAITH III"
The title of these pieces comes from a passage that has long been with me from the book of Isaiah. Isaiah is prophesying about the breaking down of the kingdom of Israel due to their rebellious hearts. God is going to allow havoc and chaos to come against them and he describes it as a "breaking like that of a potter's vessel that is smashed so ruthlessly that among its fragments not a shard is found." (Isaiah 30:14)
Isn't this much like our own faith? God allows idols and seasons to be ripped from us due to our rebellious nature, but also because He has something new that He wants to do in and through us!
A few verses later, Isaiah says, "Therefore the Lord wants to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him." (vs. 18)
I've experienced this so much in my own life the past several years. The beauty from the ashes, the rebuilding of the walls, the potters vessel being broken beyond repair... BUT GOD. These pieces hopefully reflect that beauty. The rebuilding of what was broken. The fragments of our own faith being just enough for God to use in His own redemption story.
My prayer is that they would serve as a reminder to you that or story is never beyond redemption.
